With COVID-19 taking over and continuing to keep small businesses like my own closed, it was time to actually start blogging. The timing was ironic at best, but perfect to say the least.
Keri & Jim’s intimate elopement at the beautiful Hartford City Hall on February 17th, 2020 was the most laid back elopement to date. It’s what they wanted and they surely got it.
I love details. Capturing details is one of my favorite aspects of wedding photography.
While the 3 of us were waiting to begin their forever journey, I had started working on some of the details present. Then I noticed a coin in Keri’s right shoe.
I had wondered what this was all about, as it merely seemed like it was very uncomfortable to have a coin in your shoe. However, this coin was given to Keri from a co-worker. It’s apparently a tradition that her co-worker has had in her family and wanted to share this with Keri. How sweet!
Apparently the old saying behind the coin goes something like:
“Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue… and a six pence in your shoe”
Just don’t quote me on that as I am unsure if that is the real saying haha.
Just the two most important people, a photographer (myself) and the justice of peace.
Elopements and intimate weddings are uniques to say the least. I find them personally to be the best way to celebrate the love you have between your partner. This form of commemoration is true at best.
We headed up to the top floor for the ceremony and just look at this view! Just the 4 of us witnessing the next chapter in Keri & Jim’s life. What a freaking honor though! It was the best thing to witness and honestly start off 2020 before the year took a turn for the worst.
We took advantage of the gorgeous architecture of City hall and the surrounding areas to capture the best memories possible! Keri & Jim had so much fun and there was tons of laughter. They rocked their photos!
So apparently there was some type of event that had occurred prior to this day and there were signs and blue & green balloons everywhere. We had to move everything before we could start taking photos.
Along the way of our photo adventure though, we came across a legit HEART balloon. We were not expecting to see this since the balloons that were present were simply blue & green ones. It’s as if it was placed there on purpose. So we had to incorporate it 💕
It was luckily a BEAUTIFUL day too for mid-February too.
